Two opportunities to plan around
| Window | Release |
|---|---|
| Primary | 56 days before the visit, 3 p.m. HST |
| Secondary | The preceding calendar day, 3 p.m. HST |
Recreation.gov’s facility page explains the releases and ticket requirements. Every visitor needs a ticket, regardless of age. The next-day release is at a fixed afternoon time, not exactly 24 hours before your individual tour slot.
Do not confuse three different purchases
- USS Arizona Memorial program reservation: use the official Recreation.gov system.
- Transport or a guided tour: read what is included and who arranges the memorial ticket.
- Other Pearl Harbor historic sites: check their separate admission and booking terms.
A package price is not the government’s admission price. Before buying a tour, confirm whether it includes the exact memorial program you want or only transport and visitor-center time. Never infer a guaranteed ticket from the words “Pearl Harbor tour.”
Build the rest of the day around the confirmed time
Keep your confirmation and check current operating notices before traveling. NPS visitor instructions recommend arriving at the visitor center an hour before your ticket time and checking in at the theater ten minutes before the program. Allow for that buffer when comparing a rental with organized transport.
The planner converts both release times to your device’s timezone and can download calendar reminders. It cannot reserve tickets or confirm that a program will operate on your date.
Check holiday closures first
NPS lists Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day closures. The planner flags these dates. Operational changes can also affect the memorial program; check current notices before arranging transport.
Before you book
Is the USS Arizona Memorial program free?
Yes. Recreation.gov charges a US$1 reservation fee per ticket; paid transport and other historic-site admissions are separate.
Does a paid Pearl Harbor tour guarantee the memorial program?
Read the specific inclusion and confirmation terms. Do not assume a memorial ticket is included just because Pearl Harbor is in the tour name.
